I hand wash my Porsche every few days, only twice have I used a touchless car wash because I didn't have time for the hand-wash, first time while driving out of the car wash the car choked while driving through the dryer, rpms will fly up to 2000+ then down to few hundred ect, and then chokes itself out and shuts off, 2nd time I went to a touchless few months later I avoided the dryer but the car still choked itself out once before I even got to the dryer and once right outside the car wash, I have to redline it for few seconds and than everything works great. Of course after realizing the first time wasn't a fluke, I never do any kind of wash but hand-wash now
is this normal?? I assume it is because of the position of the motor/intake, water/soap/the hot blower get fed right into it, but I just wanted to make sure
1999 Carrera c2 100,000kms(65k miles about)
k&n cold air intake
thanks

There was an article in a recent Panorama that you should not use a car was as it would overwhelm the drainage channels of the 996/997.I'm sure it overwhelmed your airbox or wet the wires coils or wiring in the engine compartment. You could have had hydrolock or worse!
Do you have K&N air filter/intake?
