My wife was following me and told me my drivers side brake light wasn't working. I ordered new bulb from pelican and went to install it today, I asked her to step on the brake so I could see which bulb it was. I pulled out the "bad" bulb and realized I must have ordered the wrong bulb.
Then I put my "night" lights on and saw that the existing bulb is working. I had her press the brake pedal and it is not "brightening".
I'm confused so I have another problem or is it still a bulb issue?
This is the tail light bulb I ordered:
900-631-127-90-M97 Tail Light Bulb (12V - 21W, 1156) (White), 996 Carrera 2/4 (1999-04), 996 Turbo (2001-05), As Needed, Each
Brand: Osram-Sylvania
NEW FEATURE
Picture of the bulb to the right which is working (and I think should be brightening when I hit the brakes)
Any advice? Thanks!!!

I think the brake light bulb has 2 filaments (one for "night" light and one for brake). Owner manual says the bulb is P21/5W, which is 1157 I believe. You can just remove the bulb in question and see if there are physically two filaments and one is burnt.
You have 3 wires going into that bulb....must have two filaments then.
