Hmmm., never sure how to take comments from you and Alp. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The bottom line on this and my reasons are:
1.General consensus is the IMSB is a wear item to be replaced with clutch change. The same experts recommend high zinc content, heavier weight oil, and more frequent (3K to 5K) oil change interval.
2. I refuse to pay $600+ for a ceramic hybrid bearing that is really $35 and will need to be changed anyway at 40K miles.
3. I refuse to pay $3500 for a "solution" on an engine with multiple high dollar "fixes" just to be reliable, in a car that depreciates faster then @#$%.
4. I will pay $0 in labor for any of this.
5. Any opinions are welcome and listened to even if you dont or wont allow yourself to agree with any of this because I am the "K" man.
Maybe a better fix is to use the $35 CH bearing with the Pelican retaining bolt and kit. I could keep the $12 bearing for a paper weight.

FWIW, when I replaced my original IMS bearing with the LNE one at 100k miles, the bearing was good as new when inspected. The only reason I swapped it out was because I was in there anyway and for future [possible] resale value since the internet has lead the average person to believe this bearing is a time bomb.

I've thought along the same lines. A $165 wear item or $600+ one? If they need to be replaced every xx,xxx miles/x years, why waste $500?

Playing Devil's advocate here, some people would rather pay the extra for the peace of mind and reputation along with the lengthy track record that companies like LN has had, especailly when dealing with a 15-20k motor.
