removing muffler
Folks I'm in the mist of removing the mufflers on my 996.
I've got all the nuts off (that' one 13mm is a PIA to reach!)
I've tried to slide the muffler/cat clamp off towards the cat, but I can only move it .5". Any tips on moving this thing further? It seems I can't get the mufflers out of the car without sliding this clamp further. :bang head:
I don't see how some folks state they can remove the mufflers in 15mins!
Thanks!

Nope, didn't remove the wheels. Ended up taking the bumper off, then the heat shields. Much easier this way!! Don't even need to slide the collar towards the cat. Just loosen, and pull outwards.
Just dropped off the cans to get the bypass welded. Gonna pull the plugs and swap those next.

Removing the plugs are a total PIA!
Passenger side last plug (towards the rear of car) is a total pain. I can't imagine doing this without removing the muffler and bumper first!
The driver's side was the middle plug. Not as bad as the passenger side last plug, but darn close!
Looks like I have the original plugs in the car still.
