Help I'm adding a backup camera to my Kenwwood Head Unit
My car is a '99 Coupe.
I've read a few posts, this being the best:
http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...=backup+camera
Correct me if I'm wrong.
From the camera in the rear there is a yellow RCA that has to get back to the head unit to plug in to the video in for the camera and also a positive and ground that both connect to the drivers side tail light reverse light connection.
From the head unit there is one wire 12 volt trigger that must connect to a reverse trigger to automatically switch the screen when I put the car into reverse. Where does this wire connect, somewhere in the interior or back at the tail light?
I am not sure how to get the yellow RCA from the engine compartment through the grommet mentioned in the link I posted above and then into the interior compartment.
If any of you have done this please reply to this post with any tips that may help.
Thanks
RS

I can't answer your first question.
Regarding access, when I installed my PSE, I gained access under the Bose subwoofer. If you don't have these speakers, then it's the padding behind the rear seats. This is where the ECU is at.
After you remove the pad, unscrew the aluminum panel and turn it to the side.
You will see a grommet on each side. That hole leads to the engine compartment.
I recommend covering the wires with flex loom and zip tie it.
There are others ways to route the wire, but I prefer this method.
