I agree yellow generally means PCCB on a Porsche. I wouldn't want to look phony.

Except since Porsche allows custom order, any color you want, the concept of phony is rendered kinda moot

Those blue calipers are pretty sweet. You could worse than choosing that color. Red is too common; go with the blue.

I had mine done in the same color as my car (silver)... the color matched calipers looked great and didn't give the car that "modded" or "fake upgraded caliper" look

I guess that's true. But I've never seen factory yellow calipers that weren't ceramic.

Here's a photo of the wheel and caliper from a 2004 996 C4S that belongs to rennlister Mabuhay that has the following option:

It's not fake to have a yellow caliper it's only an aesthetic colour choice, I don't think anyone trying to act like they have ceramic rotors here. Sometime Porsche guys over analyze things!!!

Well I guess I can't say that anymore then
Look I'm all for painting your calipers whatever color you like. It is just that for me, the yellow PCCB calipers are pretty iconic.
I never have been huge on brake caliper colors. My red ones look like **** after some track use.

I agree with those who say do what makes you happy and don't worry about it. Personally I prefer understated to embellished, but it's your car.
