Default New to me 02 seal grey cab

I loved my o2 boxster-s but always wanted a 911. I have been on and off since i sold the boxster about buying another Porsche.

I looked at a couple that didn't really look too good or were too plain.
I picked up this '02 carrera and had it delivered Sunday am.
It looks to have the projector or xenon instead of the halogens. It has the bbs two piece sport classic wheels. They look great but are a pain int he *** to clean. They were also refinished so i get to keep them clean. The front pads/rotors/sensors were replaced but the rears are about 50%.
The clutch was replaced last year and has about 1500 miles on it along with the water pump AND the LN IMS. I knew it had an ims update, but i wasn't sure if it was the LN update.
The PO had spent over 6k last year in updates and needed to sell it. He also purchased a windscreen, windshield sun screen, and a sweet car cover.

The headlights are a little yellow but i can use the 3m headlight system that i have used on a couple cars.
There are no dents or dings from what i was told.

The po even replaced the battery when he found out from the ppi that it was 4 years old

The front tires are 9 years old and will be replaced before i drive it. The rears are 40-50% and i'll probably replace them at the same timw. They are pilots and i like the sumitomos or dws tires so i'll probably buy those.

The top is original but is still in decent shape but will need to be replaced in a couple years.

The interior is spotless minus a cleaning from the vacuum.

The ppi only showed a minute weeping on the power steering pump.

I would also like to replace the head unit with an Alpine of some sort. Maybe something with a nav screen.

The PO was a pleasure to deal with and i can't wait to get some clean roads. The car is filthy right now and it's too cold to wash, but i'll try and get it done after work this week. I might hook up the hose to the hot water.

And here are the manditory pics. Yes, i know, it's filthy. She wimpers to me every time i walk by.

This is a clean pic from the PO

Sounds like a decent Porsche, congrats. Even a warm bucket of water will get most of it clean. Love those wheels. Nice to see you aren't afraid to drive your new 911 in the winter.

Congrats on the purchase It looks like you got a good one. After you redo the headlights I would consider putting some Lamin-X Headlight Protective Film on to help protect against road debris.

It is about 30 degrees out so i hooked the hose up to the hot water and went to town.
It also has gambella exhaust.

Thanks all. After washing the car it really allowed me to see what to concentrate on. The headlights definitely need to be cleaned. I wonder if it might be best to remove them in order to not mess up any of the paint.
The driver mirror is a bit loose, hopefully it's just a loose connection on the door.

The top will definitely need to be replaced in a year or two as it is coming apart at the seams. But, i knew that coming into this. I thought i had to release the top like the boxster and had to get out the book and then decided to just hold down the button and it worked.

btw, how much does a new top cost? I was told about 2k.

Luckily, the roads are not nice right now and i have a month to play with this car.

Here are some cleaner pics. I felt so bad that i left her like that in the garage.

I was deciding which of the following would have been worse;
posting a new car purchase w/o pics or posting new dirty car pics............

Very nice, definitely HID headlights, you got the wind deflector too, that's $200+ you don't need to spend.

The issue with the soft top is likely the car was driven year round? Weather elements damage the fabric the more it is exposed to the UV rays. The car looks to be in really good cosmetic condition otherwise, modded with the clear side signal lights too.

I also like the quad exhaust tips, still not exactly sure which model came with that from the factory, thought it was only the C4? I bought an aftermarket set last year and like them better than the OEM ones.
