'99 C2 w/ 6 speed
Replaced at 119k while in for a worn clutch disk. IMS wasn't original to the car (had a billet flange), but did have a slight leak. Otherwise, the bearing was intact and spun well.

Original engine? I selfishly want to know because I have practically convinced myself I am going to discover a milkshake in my coolant tank...damn forums.

1999 C2 6 Speed 165K miles. Original IMS bearing and the motor was never opened and is the original engine. Came out looking in excelent condition.
Had to rebuild the engine thanks to a Cyl 1 Crack. IMS was perfect. Added and EPS unit as well as an EPS upgraded clutch.

I just purchased a 2003 C2 with 19700 mi.
Had the IMS Solution installed, RMS and clutch replaced. The original bearing was OK. Clutch really didn't need replacement but since it was apart I only had to pay for the clutch kit so I had it done as well.

Could they give anymore details? That is pretty vague and doesn't seem to fit with IMS(B) related warranty work.
The only related work I could possibly think of would be to change the seal from the original single ridge to the triple ridge, but on a 2004 it should never have had the older style seal on the IMSB.
It's always possible, but I've just never heard of them replacing the bearing like that under warranty. Either it wasn't touched or the the motor was replace as far as I know.

Clutch was also changed in same service visit.
Any ideas?
Apparently Porsche Plano was sold to Boardwalk a while back and they don't have further file data.

I'm also trying to decipher some Porsche Plano warranty servicing language to see if my IMS bearing was changed at 30k in 2004 on my '99 C2 Cabrio. Exact text is 'r+r trans & replace leaking rear main seal with intermediate shaft seal housing'

Thanks gnat. In your opinion does that IMS seal upgrade add any further life potential / robustness to the dual row bearing?
