+1 Check the plugs first. Do not start the engine again. If it is a chunk of head, it is seconds from grenading the motor. Flatbed it to a reputable Porsche shop...

I've listened, and I've read the other posts. In my humble opinion, the answer to your question "What's wrong with this engine" is "your engine is f'd Up". Thank you. Thank you. The tequila has spoken.

Yes i agree something fd up with the electrical. A rod or whatever would be unbearably loud and you wouldnt be able to drive it around really.

The head has a cylinder liner pressed in known for slipping or the top edge breaking a chunk off.

The engone costs about the same to rebuild as it does for a new one which is pretty much the price of the car. Would be best to figure out the problem before giving a possible cracked rod or cylinder a chance to be more destructive. Start with the easy ones like loose spark plug, loose exhaust header and bolts, or if you are dangerous enough to run the engine again check to see if there is engine compression felt at the oil fill tube by holding your hand over the tube. Might be getting the blow off from a crack into the oil area instead of water or oil.

If its a stuck valve oh well. Since you were driving it did it seem like it lost any performance or is the engine shaking? If it stutters or shakes check the plugs and get it fixed before starting it again. That's because if its valve or rods you don't want to make the problem worse like driving the valve throught he piston or throwing the piston through the head with the rid sticking through the crank case. Looks ugly on a porsche

did you listen to the video? Thats ridiculously loud. Furthermore, you can drive around with a spun bearing for a little while...until you can't.

YIKES

I am hoping for good/simple

but that does not sound simple - sounds like things impacting each other in ways that cost $$$$
