Electrical sound
When I turn the key on my '99 911 there is a fast repeating electrical short circuit sounding noise. The engine quickly then begins to turn over and the car seems to start up fine. Also, as the electrical sound is happening, the dash lights very quickly blink. Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be. Thanks!

Remove the battery terminals and clean and burnish the connectors and terminals, check the battery to ground connection.
The "frying" sound you hear is the corrosive debris between the battery post and the connector, low enough resistance to supply load voltage ubtil you engage the starter load.

You can buy from pep boys a battery terminal cleaner for less than $10...then put a bit of vasaline on the posts before connecting up again. Oh you have to know the radio code before disconnecting the battery or you cannot get the radio to work.
