well since engines and cars don't get bored or have feelings, I'd doubt it.

also, higher rpm=higher wear.

The 911 is an extension of one's self. If you choose to falsely believe that she is just an expression of metal and plastic, then you have lost the true concept of Ferdinand Porsche.

To you maybe. I might recommend the new Camaro, or even the Corvette.

Thanks for your reply.

More than 'just a car'. It's a PORSCHE. There is no substitute

+1 for, just a car. If it gets totalled, I would just buy another.

Firstly, hows the weather there in fantasy land?

secondly, to the best of my knowledge, ferdinand porsche's goal was to build a car that offered higher level performance that could be used daily due to is usability, efficiency, and reliability. I don't seem to recall any bull**** about an extension of one's self. In fact, I think he would be disgusted by the worship some of the people place on these pieces of metal. He thought they should be used and enjoyed as cars, not as some metaphysical part of one's personality.

Thirdly, telling someone that their belief that a car is an expression of steel and plastic is false is so incredibly asinine its hard for me to address.

Might be time to take a look at yourself and your priorities.

Oh I see now...its not other cars that are extensions of one's self but just 911s.

What about the true concept of Harley Earl or Zora Arkus-Duntov? they don't count right?

delusion is a helluva drug

Well, if this threads going OT, I may as well contribute to the unavoidable train wreck.

To me, its more of an art work, or interesting sculpture. Still thinking of moving my car in the house once I finish cleaning and detailing the chasis parts and underbody.

Everything must be clean, of course.

Metaphors just drive you crazy, don't they? I'm guessing you don't like too many movies or stand-up comics.

I think Quad only likes things from New Jersey, Snooki for instance. A fine example of NJ's contribution to society.

No, people personifying pieces of metal drives me crazy. Metaphors are fine, and sure I like movies and good stand up comics. Then again, they usually aren't talking about rpms and the engine's attitude about them

wow, so you've got nothing of substance (aside from parking your car in your house, ) so you're gonna try to attack NJ? Pretty weak. Where are you from again?

The train has begun to derail...

Aside from that, one thing I have noticed is the attitude and the way newbies entering into the sports car/exotic/modified car hobby think of their rides.

One thing people should ask themselves is do you own the car or does the car own you?

It's a simple question but very valid question in the world of the car hobby.
