Default Hood Emblem - How's it attached?

I was putting a coat of was on my new toy this evening. While working on the hood I was removing product from around the emblem on the hood. The emblem moved. It didn't come completely off, just rotated about 20 degrees. My quesion is, how is the emblem attached to the hood? Is there an alignment pin, or is it just adhesive? If mine moves I'm thinking I need to remove it & re-attach it.

Thanks in advance.

It's held on to the hood by two pins and spring washers. Just check out the underside of the hood. Should see two recessed holes where you can tighten the washers.

Also don't close the hood by pushing on the hood emblem. There is no support under it. It will develop an upward curve, like a potato chip, and you can also damage the hood.

What's the recommended way to close the hood? Need to push down on something if you don't want to slam it.

Push on the area that's approx 1 inch below the emblem, where the hood latch is installed.

+100.....using the "heel" of your palm, which is about what will fit in that space anyway.

It's called a "fronk" from what I've gathered on Rennlist.

Everyone should watch that Hurley Heywood "welcome" video about the various need to know features of the 996! Fun to watch, and, informative.

Video #33 in the 996 section!
