I just partially installed the muffler bypass pipes and my god is it loud!!
I'm actually glad one of the exhaust clamp bolts was rusted on the passenger side and only got to install one. I can't even imagine what it would have sounded like if I installed both! How do you guys do it?
I do really like the tips though. It's a shame you have to spend $300+ for nice tips, but you can get these bypass bipes with tips included for $175. I may just cut off the tips and use them or resell the pipes here.
Anyone interested in a set of bypass pipes? Paid $175 on ebay, only one installed momentarily...yours for $100.

Thanks. Only went down the street and back to test it. Putting the muffler back in the morning. Just waaaay too damn loud. Even louder than the youtube clips I heard.

Bypass.....
Because Race Car
On a side note, I made some bypasses with my stock tips since I have some GT2 tips on my hacked cans and was doing nothing with the stock tips. I did a little bit of experimenting and found that the biggest issue with sound inside the car is the exhaust note resonating in the cavity that was occupied by the muffler. If you get your bypasses to exit outside the rear bumper far enough it is a very bearable noise when you are in the car, and only really obnoxiously loud when you want it to be and pin it, or it echos between big buildings, tunnels, or overpasses. I enjoy it though, and when I have my almost 1yr old son in the back seat the silly smirk and giggle that he emits when I let loose is awesome. The true makings of a gear head.

So it seems that the PSE and Fister mod are the same however there are different routing or hack options. The PSE mod seems a bit quieter than the Fister Mod is this correct? Guess it depends on diameter and which area one routes the additional pipe? After these bypass pipes, now I want the quietest upgrade from stock. PSE mod?

Yes, it is quieter, as you are using "more" muffler with the PSE hack. There is barely any volume difference with PSE hack, except when you start or free rev the car. Otherwise it is just a change in the way it sounds (way for the better), not volume. Fister mod will sound about the same as PSE, just louder.
