I just changed my oil and filter today at 4000 miles. The K @ N Filter went in no problem after all. Not checked my old filter for any debris as yet.

Default o-ring position

I always wondered why the o-ring did not seat easily right up against the top of the filter housing - here is a great white paper describing the correct position of the o-ring (just in case you wondered)

(short answer is there is a groove before the top of the threads where the o-ring is meant to sit - not right at the top of the threads)

I just ordered the exact Porsche brand recommended for my 2007 997.1 from Pelican, and it did NOT fit over the receptacle. So I am going to order a non-Porsche brand, most likely the Hengst. What a waste of time and shipping costs.

The Mahle is cheaper from Amazon on Prime than buying from Pelican
