So how would one know if it actually needs changing or not? Buying my first 996 in the next 30 days or so (if the right one comes along that is) I would like to check these things...

Brake fluid? If you do not get paperwork or can learn from a dealer/service shop the fluid has been changed in the last 2 years it is due to be changed and you should factor the cost of this service into your offer price, along with the cost of any other services/consumables the car may need, like brakes or tires. In the case of tires since it is a new car at least to you an alignment should be done right after new tires are installed.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I use 2 years or any discoloration, what ever is first. ATE Gold 200 or Racing Blue, personally.
