why did you buy the car it you hate the way it looks so much you have to use tape to hide part of it? Good or bad i personally love the non oval lights, i think it was a bold design risk and not something that is likely to happen again.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder what colors of tints would make different colors out of the orange for getting devious. Green for a result would seem wild enough.

I'd be worried about "hiding" part of my front turn signals when it's important for other drivers coming from the opposite direction to see them.

Thanks. I'll check back in later.

I'm not sure all people realize it's BLACK reflective tape, primo 3M that is as thin as paper, and weatherproof.

That's the problem with tint products, they are not for outside use.

I'm happy for now. Thanks for the link on the replacements. idk how to even remove the lamps yet! Had the car for about a month. I grew up in a string of dad's 914s, so the Box was easy to acclimate to. I have my share of Euro cars behind me, and also have a 2010 Tiguan 6M w/APR on A3 springs. That vehicle has merit itself.

Anyway, I wanted a convert, so a 911 was sub-optimal for me, esp considering the premium price.

btw- plenty of amber light comes through, sort of the same rectangle shape as the VW...

It's ok. Just to say that it does look better in person. I don't think anyone who's not an enthusiast would even notice. :0)

...and you have to say, is it better than OE (maybe) or is it better than a $1000 set of ecodes? (no)

I think it is an improvement over stock and for $9 bucks it is both low risk and removable if you don't like it.

I think stock looks better. To each their own though.

Although I'm personally a huge believer in maintaining the stock look, if you insist on going down this road you may as well know about these guys ... http://www.strosek.de/strosek_2006.php

The website is lousy with flash so you need to click on the 996 button to get it to work. These guys can (cosmetically) turn your 996 into a 997. If thats what you want.

Nice boxster - I think the intent is good - I would suggest finding a way to get the tape to line up with the hood? Anyway if you don't end up liking it in a few weeks you can remove it then. Btw tinted vinyl film is designed for outside use and can last ten plus years
