Don't rely on the cars electronic pressure gauge for accurate readings - get the system checked using a mechanical gauge....
A low oil pressure @ idle is not too problematic as long as you have the correct pressure at + 3,000 rpm at normal engine running temperatures.

at startup around 4.2 4.3 ( Because the weather is still hot these days 40c )
When the car is hot 80c
The pressure 1 bar or 1.1

When the temperature is 95c, oil pressure Needle on .05 bar

When my sending guage was faulty pressure reading would drop to zero for a few seconds while driving and then bounce to 5+ and stick there

Certainly could be rebuild issues.

Try a thicker oil? You don't need a 0w-40 with those temperatures.

Thicker oil is not the answer if the bearing clearances are too large. It just gives a false sense of hope. Thicker oil or not, if the bearings are loose, they will pund themselves apart in no time.

I'm battling the same issue also. I'm leaning to the oil pump in the sump with the pick up.

http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...-oil-pressure/

Has anyone fitted the dual pickup from a gt3?

If you have low oil pressure the cam adjuster isn't going to function correctly.
