Default Will this wing work for my 996?

I have the opportunity to purchase this wing for CHEAP but not sure about the fan/intake area.

The instructions say "1990-2002-Disconnect the harness for the automatic wing at the bottom of deck lid unbolt the automatic wing and remove. also remove any blowers if you have a 99-2002 car and replace with spoiler."

Do I need to retrofit my fan back on it? Will the intake be ok?

I think we need more information to help. For example, who is the manufacturer? Someone might have experience with this wing. Is it cut for a NB or WB car? What kind of car do you have (NB or WB)? Is your 996 a coupe or cab? Blah, blah, blah...

Gotcha!
I don't have manufacturer info, just those pics and confirmation that it will fit my '99 c2 NB coupe.

I'm guessing you disassemble the stock wing like the pic below and bolt it up somehow

Looks like it just sets in where the stock wing was. That is how many of them do it. Looks like a Taco wing With a side of Sour Cream

You might have to drill some holes in the wing if it doesn't have them at the right places.
I found this on youtube when I was pining for a GT2 wing.. Might be helpful.

Thanks for the help guys!
I'm still not sure about the fan placement. I guess I'll get the wing and find out. Apparently it's a no-no to go without the fan if you live in a hot place so I'll have to figure it out.
Shyamvenky: did you get the wing?

Looks like you got one of the cheaper replicas. I currently have an OEM piece but before that, I had a replica but it had the solid base on the underside to mount the fans and mouldings and such. I didn't need to transfer over the factory bottom plate. Looks like you might have to go that route though...

Your wing looks a bit "interesting" to say the least". It has the bolts sticking out the front of the wing for what would be a pivot but then your brackets toward the rear of the wing blade seems a bit ghetto and non-adjustable. I could be wrong but that's how it looks from the pics.

It certainly looks that way alpine, thanks for the comments.
BUT I have the opportunity to get it for so cheap I don't think it would hurt to see what it's like
I can't get myself to spend 1k on a wing.

A little off compared to the real deal that's for sure:

I backed out because $1200 was too much just for a wing. But I've always had a thing for the GT2 wing. Its on my bucket list for cosmetic mods next year

If you think $1200 is a lot for a spoiler, you don't wanna know how much an OEM mk1 Taco wing costs.

I don't know Why anybody would spend that much just because its an OEM, especially on a 996 unless you planned on keeping the car & then I Still don't know Why you would do it, unless you just Have to Have Brand Name items. jmo

It's called trying a rep and finding out he much it sucked and spending the extra change to do what I should of done in the first place. Yes I have nothing against reps if the quality is there. Yes I think it's rediculous how much mark up the "Porsche tax" adds to similar parts that are marketed specifically to Porsche. Yes, I do have to save some money sometimes and buy used. Yes having 100% OEM aero kit will help resale value and minimize depreciation if I decide to sell later on.
No I don't buy Kirkland underwear and jeans.

I promise you, if you ever trade that car in for another one at the Dealership, you're Not getting anymore for that car that what that lil' blue book tells them its worth. You could have 4k dollar wheels on it & its still not gonna help you (thats why if somebody trades in their car, they take everything they can off of it & put everything back on it stock) & then try & sale the rest of the high dollar stuff they put on it & HOPE you can get back half of what you paid for it! jmo
