New owner- New Daily Driver
After a lot of searching mainly for a Boxster or 968 I found a great deal on this 996 Carrrera 4.
This replaces my deceased 944 which was totaled by a distracted driver (not me).
So after a complete day of ownership I love this car !
Its a 2 owner car full service history and well looked after 101,000 which lived winters in Florida and summers in MI. I settled for a tiptronic (it pleases the wife!) and so far I have no regrets.

That generation of Sport Design wheels is one of my favorite Porsche wheel designs. Looks like a great car.
In a similar vein to you, I just got a nice 2004 Boxster S, with Tiptronic, also for my wife (she wanted to drive the car too, and has just never liked manuals, even though I tried to teach her and she was coming along...)
Anyway, I find the Tip in manual mode is surprisingly good. The shifts are quite quick (nothing like PDK, I'm sure, but quicker than I imagined).
In a perfect world it would be a manual, but it really is not a bad car at all in Tip form, and is still a great drive.
I love the Box, and I hope you enjoy your 996!

Nice car, nice color and I especially like the Sport Design wheels I bought my 996 C4 with about the same mileage and it has been my DD for about two years now and I love it. Unfortunately, we bottomed out on a speed bump and have a big crack somewhere in the bottom where 9 plus quarts of oil leaked out.
