2002 996. PSM standard or an option?
Sorry, haven't been able to find these answer through searches, though surely it has been discussed before.
In 2002, was PSM standard or an option?
If it was an option, I assume non-optioned cars had the older traction control?
What year did PSM become standard?

I don't think it was ever standard in the C2 version of the 996. It was standard for the C4, C4S and turbo if I'm not mistaken.

The non-optioned cars do not have traction control. I have an '02 C2 and the only aid is ABS.

I always urge people looking for a 996 to find cars with lengthy options lists. These add barely anything to the used value of the car, and options like Bose, PSM, full leather, heated seats, etc. can really add to the enjoyment of the car.

Other than hating the color of both the interior and exterior (sorry), I looked under the hood. The sticker was damn near empty. Almost no options to speak of. I'm suprised such a stripper was available during the early part of the 996 series launch.

I only considered cars with full leather, bi-xenons, 18" wheels, and Bose. I was lucky that the car I found also had PSM... Which I used (needed) a whole lot on a PCA 'Moonshine Run' through the NC and TN mountains last weekend.

Strange, when I start looking for a 996 I want a stripped, low/no option car. The fewer options the better (for me).
Admittedly, some options would be nice: full leather, LSD, sport exhaust, but that's about it.
