Default Help car stalled & won't start

My 99 Porsche stalled coming into my development today & won't start back up. Fuel pump seems to be working when key is on. I did install a new cold air intake about a month ago. I seen no lights come on. It just shut right off. When I try & start it runs for a second & shuts off. Any thoughts? Thanks Mike

How much fuel in the tank?
Check for air leaks at the throttle body and anything that might have been disconnected during CAI install
Does the ign key feel "normal"
IE: turns freely no binding, springs back from "start" position, pulls out of slot when in off position easily etc..

1/4 tank gas gage said. I did add a half gallon gas from my Lawnmower can. The key feels normal. No lights came on that I seen. It just shut off. It tries to start for about a second and shuts off.

Very odd...

When it stopped running what did it feel/sound like? Mechanical noises? Misfiring?

Pull the MAF connector and try to start. Car should go to limp mode and bypass the maf.

Maybe there was too much oil in the airfilter...

I didn't hear anything when it shut down. I thought it was still running when I was turning into my street. The steering got hard. That's when I new it stalled.

This is CAI I added about 5 weeks ago. With 2 pre oiled filters.

Well if there was oil in the filters, it's now on the MAF. Oiled filter will destroy maf sensor fast.

if the engine sounds ok and you recently added gas
you might have 'bad gas'

I had it in my car. the car would have to sit over night then after like 10 attempt of stumbling engine, wait like 10 minute in between each start... tell me about it...
then the car would run just fine.

Add some techron in your tank. if you can bleed the tank but it is a pain to do, I think only way it to remove the tank opening in the front trunk

may be you can top the tank with reputable source gas, but then if it doesn't work that will be just more gas to dump

Unplugged MAF sensor still no start. I kept turning it over & started to smell gas. I think I was flooding it. Now what?
