Oil Analysis - continued peace of mind

Below is the oil analysis summary from Blackstone Labs with 5,700 miles on the oil. I have never run either of my 996's much beyond this between oil changes. Studied auto mechanics back when an 8 track tape player in a car was rare and amazing and still remember an instructor saying that we should equate engine oil as the life blood of the machine.
I started using Blackstone for oil analysis about a year ago and so far all reports on both 996's have provided me with some peace of mind.
For $25.00 it's well worth it to me.
"You ran longer on the engine this time, but wear metals either held
steady or dropped lower than before, so there certainly aren't any problems we can see from that standpoint. Everything continues to compare well with universal averages. No harmful contaminants or other issues were detected. Another great report for your C4S at 33,104 miles. Nice engine!"

"You didn't sound real sure about the oil type that was used, so we're not too concerned that the viscosity didn't measure in the 0W/30 range. It read more like a 10W/30 or even 5W/40. At any rate, wear metals read nice and low so your engine did fine on this viscosity. Universal averages show how metals should read after about 3,600 miles on the oil. You're getting wonderfully low numbers after 3,000 miles on your oil. No coolant, water, fuel, or other contamination was found and insolubles read nice and low. Great report! Try 5,000 miles."
My indy used "Total Oil 5000" so i really don't know what the range was-

Great service as well, your reports are stored on their web site so it is easy to find and compare. Mailed the latest sample on Friday and even with the Holiday had my report in my inbox yesterday. You can add a TBN if you are interested in seeing if you can extend the interval, I am not so I only ordered the TBN on the first samplel, costs an extra ten bucks.
Here is the summary from the C2 with 70k miles on the engine and 5300 miles on the oil.
"Universal averages show how wear metals should read from this engine after about 4,000 miles on the oil. You ran this fill longer yet metals are all lower than average, so you've got no obvious problems at work in your Porsche. The viscosity read in the 10W/40 range, and there was no fuel, moisture, or other contamination present. The TBN read 3.3, plenty of active additive left in the oil. It appears as though you have a nicely wearing Porsche engine, so longer oil change intervals should be no problem at all. Try up to 7,500 miles next time.

Here is what I use:

I forget the name of the lab they use, but the analysis is good info and only $13.99 to boot!
