Default '99 right rear brake clicking noise

I've had my '99 for about six months, its a great car, just a few issues.

There's some sort of 'clicking' noise coming from the right rear under moderate/ hard braking. There's no noise under accelleration whatsoever. I checked the obvious stuff like the wheel bearing (no wear) and the pads/ rotors have less than 3k on them (changed by prev. owner).

I pulled the wheel and tried to duplicate the noise by turning/ jerking on the axle. There is the slightest noise when rocking back and forth, but I'm not convinced that is the issue.

Any ideas? I did search.

disconnect the half shaft and see if you still hear the noise with rocking

finally got to spend some time troubleshooting on it today, here's what I found. To best describe the sound, I'd have to say its like the noise a car makes when you put the car in too high a gear too soon. Its not exactly a clicking, but a resonating sound of some sort.

The noise is exactly the same if you have the transmission in gear, in neutral, clutch in, or clutch out. There is a definite correlation to brake pedal pressure-noise. There is also a vibration in the pedal when the noise is present. The noise/ vibration seems to be the most prominent on the journey down from 50mph-40mph. If you put enough pressure on the brakes to activate the ABS, there is no noise, if you are light on them, no noise.

Warped rotors perhaps?

Bad speed sensor tripping up the ABS? Maybe it can be disconnected at the wheel to see if it goes away or, can the ABS fuse be pulled....anyone?

The ABS activates properly, so I don't think its that, and there are no warning lights. Its a strange noise/ sensation that I just can't put my fingers on. It might be a 'feature' (this is my 1st Porsche). Or it could be warped rotors resonating at that frequency range.

I've never felt that unless the ABS activates, ....pad vibration maybe?

yep, could be. Wonder if I can find someone to turn the rear rotors?
