XM radio for 996
Did a quick search but didn't find anything useful............so, has anyone been successful in fitting any kind of decent looking XM kit to the car?
Don't really want a load of cables hanging around.
Has anyone repleced to stock factory radio with an XM ready unit? If so what brand and what cost?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Les.

Search for Double DIN and you should find many threads. You might also search for Kenwood or for Pioneer, as they are popular replacement units.
I originally had a XM unit hooked up to my stock radio, but I ended up removing everything and having a Kenwood double DIN system installed with Sirius/XM, bluetooth, iPod connectivity, etc.

Mine is identical to "David in VA", albeit older model, perhaps. You can remove the trays from the CD holder and work with that to mount it. I was going to update it, but the newer models are to big for that area. You'll have to find an older one. I've opted to go with a new double din unit. Everything is bought and painted,.....just have to install it!

I'd drop him a line or call first, he knows exactly which items you will need...
You don't have the MOST system do you? If you do, it can get pretty expensive trying to replace all the fiber-optic stuff...
