996 Artic silver is water based and has a slight warm tint
993 Artic was still oil based and had a cooler tint.

Don't you love how manufacturers cause confusion by using the same name for two things that are not, in fact, the same?

I've had good luck with the Wurth silver wheel paint .... BUT you can't stop there. To complete the work you truly have to coat it with the Wurth clear lacquer. The Wurth silver paint without the lacquer is fairly porous.
If you don't seal it, you'll end up with silver paint that looks fine (but dull) initially but gets dirty in a matter of days and is almost impossible to clean well thereafter.

Yes, you need the clear. And in my case it was not an exact match on my Technos so I did the whole wheel. Turned out OK. But will need them re shot professionally. But you cannot see and of the gouges or scratches anymore because I filled and sanded them like the DIY on RENNTECH said. MUCH better but the finish is only So So.
