Cool

This reads an awful lot like the IMS threads. Maybe we should consider a class action lawsuit.

None yet on the P car but last month had a lag bolt in my tire on the Audi and after getting the tire replaced, on the way back to the office picked up another nail in a different tire and drove right back to get it fixed. The guy said "what are you doing back here". I said you won't believe it.

I think my last legitimate flat caused by a puncture was in a Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tire that was on my 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero sedan. That was in 2005. I haven't ever had a puncture in either of the Porsches.

I hear the streets are made out of gold in Potmac..

I get them very often during my commute to DC.

That said, first flat (on the road) in 15 years.

I think my last flat was back in the 80's. My wife, on the other hand, has about one a year. She claims to be "unlucky". I think that's a synonym for careless.

I seemed to get more flats when the economy was better and there were a lot of small construction trucks driving the highways. All the flats were drywall screws. None in the last couple of years.

(Maybe money is tight enough, they're taking more effort not to lose their building materials off the back of the trucks.)

Only some of the streets...even then, just gold leaf ;-)

Actually got the flat on the ICC, which is one of the smoothest roads around!

I've had two flats in the past year. One on the front and one on the rear.

I'm getting ready to buy all new tires right now, I sure hope that run of luck is over.

Gold leaf? Darn those budget cuts..

I found a 7 inch nail in my tire a couple of months ago, I think I picked it up on the new 295/395 overpass.

18 months and no flats. In 37 years of driving, I've had a total of 7 flats and only one that required me to pull over and change the tire.

I pickd upa door key once as I drove out of a prking lot, I heard the hissing immediately, it puncutured right at the corner of the tire so it was irrepairable.

Two million miles?!

Bridgestone RE970, ultra high performance and quiet, although I think you should get dedicated winter tires as you said you want to drive the car through winter. All-season tires are "no-season" tires as they are compromise when it comes to squeezing out the most performance.
