Default JRZ RS PRO fitment

Looking for guidance that I cannot get from JRZ directly...
I have a 1999 996 C2, and, I have the option of buying a friends slightly used JRZ PRO RS suspension from his 2001 996 Turbo. Does anyone now if that will fit on my C2?

The short answer is going to be "no." Turbos and C2s have different mount points and geometry. I'm surprised you cannot get that clarification directly from the JRZ website or customer service.

yeah, I'm a bit disappointed that I have not heard back from JRZ. My shop (Goldcrest) indicated it may be the same dampers/springs, but the fitment might be way off. Hard to say, which is why I wanted JRZ to weigh in.

Don't know about JRZ, but many suspension companies differentiate between C2s and C4s/turbos for different applications.

Cool

I personally have no direct experience with what you are asking. However, as a daily (hourly?) reader of this forum for several years I can tell you that this question comes up frequently in one form or another, and the experts have always come back with NO. The C2 suspension is quite different from the Turbo. Remember that the Turbo is All Wheel Drive and is a wide body, and is several hundred pounds heavier.

So I would actually be upset if the parts you are looking at actually correctly fit, AND WORKED, on a '99 C2.

Especially if I was a Turbo owner. LOL!

And as the owner of a '99 C2 I read ALL of the suspension mod stuff here, and nobody has to my knowlege properly grafted the Turbo suspension parts (or their equivalent upgrade/replacement parts) to a C2, or that probably would have become the default hot suspension upgrade here, and there would be no threads about the M030, M030 RoW, X-51, PSS9, etc. etc.

So, the answer from Erik RAS (COO) from JRZ is that the 996 turbo fitments will work with the C2; actually, he said they are the same damper. However, the front dampers from the turbo need to have the sleeve removed, and a new top hat/camber plate must be added for the different front mounting. End links should work between the two, but that is also dependent on the front sway (recommended Tarett). The rear dampers are a straight replacement. Lastly, since the 996 turbo is heavier than the C2, new springs may be in order to achieve balance.

shocking huh
PS, It is painful to see all the guys with 997 selling Motons and JRZ cheap, and no one is selling the 996 variant!

You won't get any help from JRZ. Pretty week in that department. I'd go another route.
