I have had this happen before and I don't understand why it happens.
I was washing the car, I was washing under the door handle, you know how the window drops about 3CM when you open the door, as I was washing the handle the window was going up and down, it was very confused.
but then the window dropped about 30CM and stayed open.
Key was not in the ignition, anyone know why it did this?
Thanks
Kyle

Have you tried putting the key in the door lock turning and holding to the left for a few seconds (this will make both windows go down). Mine did something similar and I found this seemed to reset it somehow.

Sounds like water in the microswitch to me.
FWIW, my window drops about 3MM, not 3CM when I pull the door handle.

Is the micor switch the same thing as the sensor? My friend with a newer Cayman had the same issue. The he couldn't lock his car becuase the window would not go up the whole way. Zfor him it was a sensor. Hope that helps.
