Personally, I find the manual procedure damn tough to follow because it is near impossible to find a flat area with that kind of distance to measure and then to ge tthe actual bulb height is a swag because of how reset they are from the front. I just raise them a little at night in my garage, mark the cut off lineon the wall, drive around, and if too low, do it again until they are where I like them. Plus IIRC, you turn both them opposite CW/CCW rotations on each side to do the same thing. You have to rotate the allen screw down towards the front to raise the lights, IIRC. With the MKII it is easier to adjust the adjusters with the headlight unit out of the car, as I can't ever seem to find it through the adjust hole when it is still in the car. I have auto leveling bi-xenons, so may be different than yours.
