You can never be too careful. Also, the exercise does me good.
After parking and running a quick errand, I saw where I had parked and immediately thought to myself, "Is anyone else as neurotic as I am?".

Nice, although i would worry that it would attract a thief, sitting there all by it's lonesome, middle of nowhere.
Best place for me is the valid space right next to a handicapped space. I cheat towards the handicapped side, leaving plenty of room for someone on the left of me.

I look for similarly isolated spots and invariably, there will be a car on both sides when I return.

I also tend to park out away from other cars, but I tend to park next to a curb or "island" in the lot so my car is protected on one side from events like wind-blown shoppnig carts flying across the lot...

and that's 10000% true - I park far far away from everyone (in the shade if possible) and I swear there will be a 1984 ford tempo and a full size soccer mom vehicle on either side - I thought most everybody just sits in the middle of the lane w their blinker on waiting for someone to leave a close space ... no ... and sure someone can easily see the Machbx parked all by herself - but I feel better not giving a thief potential "cover" in the middle of 'Death by Shopping Cart'. Actually my insurance lady said that it's a toss up - kids likely won't steal it for a joy ride bc it's a stick - but if someone wanted it they can just cut the cab top.

I know you all probably get this too. I almost took a pic last time it happened for proof...
I park pretty far out in a pretty empty lot. Come out 30 minutes later to find that the lot is still pretty empty, but for some reason someone decides to park RIGHT NEXT TO ME! What the hell! At least leave a space between us, jesus.
