Had some time to spare on the way to get a new set of Michelins put on the car. Stopped by the local dealership. Had read so much about the new cars. I'm sure it's an excellent car. But nothing about the 991 was inspiring.
I think if I were possesed to buy a new car, I'd look for a 997 GTS.

They look pretty good in person. I got a drive in one at Porsche event during Daytona 24 and I have to say I am impressed. Can't wait to see the GT3 version and see what they do with that one.

I have driven a few 991's and looked it over, I think they look great, they look like a 911 and that works for me.
Still not in love with the steering feel though.
And I think they hit one out of the park with the new Boxster, beautiful!

I'm waiting for the 991 "4" models to come out.
I really want to see the 991 Carerra 4 GTS Cabriolet. I may just jiz on it in the show room to mark my territory.

I have nothing against the 991.
Sometimes, when you see the styling of a new car, it really is enthralling and motivates you to buy one (can't be said for Acura TL's of previous years....).
But I don't see the exterior styling of the 991 significantly more compelling than the 996/997 -- and I'm not a fan of the Space Ship One console.
One of the amazing features of the older Porsches is the sense of room you get inside. That seems to be disappearing. (Has happened in the Audi's as well.)
Oh well, just "progress."
They will sell well.
May drive down the value of a car I'd rather have....so, could be Excellent.

I haven't driven a 991 yet, but I like it.
It may be a suitable replacement for my C4S at some point in the future. I'd like to see a 991 C4S cab. But not the one Riad jizzes on...

I'm sure you can order one with the model information deleted, or you could remove it from a car that already has it...
