Default cab clam shell squeak

I'm not sure if its frowned upon.. but I posted in general as well..

I have a squeak around the time my clam shell is opening or closing. I think something just needs to be greased, but I couldnt see anything at the time.. and I'm at work so I have time to

Any ideas?

Thanks

Some posters say not to put grease near the working parts of the hood but if it was happening to mine I would stop the hood just as I heard the first squeak. Then hopefully I should be able to see or hear the culprit moving part. If it was metal rubbing against metal, I would give it a short blast of WD40. Then wipe off the residue. I cant imagine WD40 would harm anything provided I didn't blast it freely all over the place or into places that it was not needed.

I'm sure there would be some form of guide/glide that the shell is running on... Porsche wouldnt put metal on metal for a moving part like that.

I'm surprised that there is so few of us who have had an issue... Maybe its something that is normally greased/cleaned during a maintenance stop at the p-dealership?
