Just put 4 Hankook V12's on last week at Discount Tire. $875 with warranty and a $50 gift card.

It seems that way. I put a new set of Contis on our Cayenne two years ago for about $1,200. Now the same set is coming in around $1,400.

I know. Those are the tires I have on my car and I paid about $640 last year for the same tires last time I replaced them! that is my point.

This is old news. Rubber was short last year. New harvest should improve the shortage in raw material supply but manufacturers are still working off the old raw material cost.

This. Got a set of the same tires for the back, $400 installed. They seem to ride a bit better than the pilot sports they replaced.

Well there is lotsa crude oil that goes into those tires, maybe more in the good ones. Many businesses seem to think they can makeup for lost revenue over the last couple years in the next couple years. I took my loose wheel & tire into the local "Big "O" tire store to have a nail patched & they quoted me $45 because it was a 18" low profile tire. I told them that was rediculos so they decided it could be done for $25.99 "this time"
Price of Michelin Ultra high perf street tire has been slashed with the new SuperSport!

Yup, ready for new 19" DWS's on the PiG, they were around $950 shipped 2 years ago on Tire Rack, now it's around $1050

I'm about to order a set. I need to see if my independent Porsche mechanic is a suitable "ship to" for Tire Rack so I can have the tires sent directly there for mounting, balancing and alignment. My local tire shop is staffed by incompetent morons.

I just need fronts as I replaced my rears about 6 months ago.
I was contemplating going 245 but probably not worth the rub risk.
I have 295/30ZR18 Hankook V12's on rear now my 2nd set and they are great tires for street performance vs. price and fantastic for a DD in rainy south Florida.

FYI...Best prices I have fount on Hankook 235/40ZR18 are $155.00 @ Tire Rack and $157 at Discount Tire Direct.

What? Your salary hasn't been going up every year?

Not a problem for me. But there is good news and bad news.

The good news if things keep going like they have been going, I might end up being a neighbor to Larry Ellison.

The bad news is things keep going like they have been going, I might end up being a neighbor to Larry Ellison, in about, oh, a gazillion years or so.

On a more serious note I got a hint some months ago tire prices were going up. The SM's at a few dealers I visit once in awhile told me they had received early warning from tire distributors tires were going up.

In anticipation of this some dealers' parts departments wanted to stock up on tires at the lower prices, but at least one SM told me tire distributors put the kibosh on that by limiting the number of tires that could be ordered at one time.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I had some Conti Extreme Contact DW's sent to my indy last month without any trouble. They weren't an option on the Tirerack site but I was able to input their address.

Just had 18" 225 and 285, F&R N3 PS2s installed at Costco for just under $1400 w/ the $70 instant rebate. $330 less than Tire Rack installed, but sure wish I'd bit the bullet on them last year when they would have been a lot less. Would have been even nicer if ^%#& Michelin would just make the PSSs in those sizes!

I believe these are the same I got. The price seemed really good to me. I guess we will see how they last but the reviews were good on-line.
