Default 996 Parkingassist problem?

Hey Everyone,

I'm a new Porsche owner of a 996 03 C2 coupe. The car came with parking assist, when in reverse backing up it sets off a beep when getting closer to objects behind you. When I first bought the car there was some work to be done with the rear bumper, it was taken to the Porsche service center where they replaced the rear bumper. I just noticed it the other day but now when in reverse I get the Beep tone going consistently like I am about to run into an object even though there is nothing behind me. It's just one big long tone. Anyone have any idea how to fix this or what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it could be a bad sensor...

You might want to reboot the system
