There is a TSB on this specific issue over at Renntech. Apparently, the problem happens quite a lot.

ok - so without the bracket there is a chance that the exhaust tip will drop, because the muffler to tip clamp may not be able to support the tip alone. sounds like welding a new piece over the existing bracket might do the trick.

dotframe, is your exhaust tip is still sturdy without the bracket?
