Default found a lot of coolant in the intake manifold

99 996 C2, 105k miles. water pump replaced @80k. I recently found a ton of coolant in the intake manifold, the coolant resivoir is pretty much empty now. Let me start from the begining...My car threw misfire codes cel, p0300,p0302,p0306. (I let the car sit for a month) upon trying to start it up, I assesed it had a bad starter-as the battery went dead (recharged it, tapped on the starter) I eventually got the car to start. I ran but extremely rough, tons of smoke coming out of both tail pipes. Ok, suspected bad AOS. while changing the starter, I found a good little puddle of coolant in one of the intake plenums. I think its a cracked head/head gasket. Is it possible it could be AOS???? ****I am not a mechanic.***** just a motivated DIY'er. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like a cracked head at best. Did the engine run hot when the waterpump went bad? If you can pull the sparkplugs & inspect them to see which cylinder is having problems & then turn over engine with starter to clear cylinders of coolant etc to see how much is in the cylinders & which cylinders.

possibly a bad AOS... coolant runs through it. I would check if you have intermix, drain the oil and asses.

I would drain the oil and take a look. I am not sure a bad AOS would cause coolant to enter one of the plenums. What is the condition of the coolant in the tank? Check your fluids for contamination and go from there. Don't panic. Everyone immediately jumps to the worst-case scenario.

Yep. Draining the asses always helps me to think clearly as well.
