What kind of 200 mph crash? The kind where you slow down from 200 mph to 40 mph before hitting anything?

1) Since it took place on a track, you don't know if that car had a roll cage and whether the driver had a three point harness + helmet.
2) The fact that it was flipping multiple times and took a long time before coming to a rest is what saved the driver.
3) Porsches have great active safety. (The ability to avoid accidents in the first place).
4) With regards to passive safety (how the car performs in a collision) it has some disadvantages. Low mass, and a low frontal crash structure. Don't kid yourself that a 911 is any safer in an actual collision than your average modern sedan.

Do you have any data to back up your claim with regard to #4? ...

What I do not understand is that some film studio has hired her to do a TV special on Liz (Taylor) and Dick (Burton). I can only imagine what their actor insurance is when you have Lindsay Lohan on contract. I can just see it now--they get half of it shot with LL and then she winds up in jail for 9 months. it's really hard to shoot the balance of the film between the bars....
That was a fool's bet to hire her for anything.

I agree with jury_ca. I'm pretty sure race-cars have strong roll-cages. And that particular accident was survivable mainly because of the roll-cage (possibly a strengthened body also). The G-forces in the spins might be daunting, but its not X mph to 0 in a jiffy.. which is what crash-tests count.
In any case.. the LiLo crash was just unfortunate that it had to be a Porsche - my guess is that she would've crashed any car that day
