Disagree, the Clear Bra on my DD is now 5 years old and through many highway miles and through winter road full of sand and salt particles, no usual stone chips at all, my theory is the softer but flexiable Clear Bra material absorbs the impact from the small road debries which would otherwise leave sandblasted pitting marks on the paint, the paint undederneath the Clear Bra remains unafftected, there is no way the paint will be anywhere as prestine as the the Clear Bra looks now after 5 years of constant highway driving.Originally Posted by redridge
Wait a few years... Get a good shop to respray off the car... Don't even clear bra it, just repeat process. That's just the way it goes.
If nothing else OEM paint is ALWAYS more desireable than ANY aftermarket paint, if I were buying a pre-owned car, I would pay for a car that had Clear Bra installed as soon as the car is delivered to the original owner and bypass one that has just been repainted. Plus a good Clear Bra job will cost less than a reasonable repaint, so why not go for a win-win solution?
But that's just me.

What are you guys paying for resprays?
I have some stone chips on my hood too. It's rough out there at high speed!

Yeah, I can justify some patina too but i had a fender bender (and paint cracker) happen the other day so a bit of body work and paint is needed. My estimate, for bumper removal, a bit of minor (really minor) body work, paint and reassembly in Canadian dollars, is 1500.

Dr Chip does a good job to hide the chips. I use on mine, and gets the chips out of mind.

When I get my car back from the shop it will have zero chips, I almost prefer it when it has some because than I don't sweat it.

Mine has chips on the front bumper cover, the front fenders, the hood and the rear fenders right in front of the rear wheels. A respray for me will be expensive.
I've used Dr. Colorchip and it's okay. I'll keep doing that until I get a respray.
My car is actually at the body shop right now getting a new rear bumper cover from my airport incident. I'm looking forward to getting it back later this week!

If your car is red or black, Turtle wax Color Magic hides the rash fairly well. You have to really goobber it on the rash and apply a couple of coats. Not perfect, but hides it enough so that you have to be within about 2 feet of the rash to notice it. Lasts about as long as any other wax.
