Default Cost of Options?

The original cost of options is sometimes difficult to determine without the original window sticker. I thought a tread would be interesting concerning options cost and changes of cost of those options during the years. So list your Year, Option and Cost from the original sticker or other valid source. "Porsche 996 The Essential Companion" lists many but not all. I'm really wanting to know the cost of option 220 Limited slip differential in 1999.

1999 Coupe $65,030

1999 M030 $705

1999 On Board Computer $449

Bring em on!

I'd love to know the sticker price of my car. I hope someone with a C4S can chime in with a post similar to those above.

This site will give you option costs for most years. I linked to the 2002 page.

Cool

I am holding in my hand the official dealer price guide for the 1999 911 Carrera Coupe, dated May 22, 1998, from which I ordered my first 1999 C2 coupe.

It lists:

659 Onboard Computer $275

M030 Sport Chassis $672

Interestingly, it does not list 220 Limited Slip Differential individually.

It could be ordered with P72 Traction Control with ABD and Limited Slip Differential $1,215,
or as part of the P95 Sport Chassis Package which included M030, ASR, ABD, LSD, and Sport Seats $2,140.

I could be wrong but I thought the LSD was standard in the 1999 C2.

According to the 996 "Bible" (996 The Essential companion - by Streather) pg. 24 he says "TC and/or mechanical limited slip differentials also remained options on the RWD 996 Carrera models for their entire lives."
In fact if you had PSM it wasn't even available as an option until 2004. And never as an option with TIPTRONIC.
LSD was standard on Annversary Model but not Millennium. (See Streather pg. 252).

Respectfully,
Your memory has failed you on this item about LSD being standard on the 1999 C2. It was an option that could only be purchased as part of other sport/performance packages.

Looking at my original window sticker for my first 1999 Carrera Coupe, the left column shows the list of standard equipment. Limited Slip Differential nor any other traction control devices other than ABS were included in the standard C2.

The middle column listing the Options and pricing shows that I ordered the Traction Control with ABD in order to get the Torque-controlled limited slip differential (LSD). The Special Chassis Rigidly Tuned is listed separately as are the Leather Sports Seats Manual Adj. All three of these options were part of the P95 Sport Chassis (for manual transmission) option package which also included the ASR (traction control). P93 was all the above hardware minus the sports seats. Neither the P93 nor the P95 was available in Tiptronic cars.

Also refering to the official Porsche Cars North America literature sent out to all PCA Newsletter Editors at the introduction of the 996, with a very detailed listing of all the new technical details on the (then about to arrive) 1999 996, the LSD also shows as listed under OPTIONS within the Traction Control (TC) with limited slip differential (LSD) and automatic brake differential (ABD) package.
