Do you wave to other drivers?

Do you wave to other drivers?
I saw another 996 C4S Cab on my way into work today and, while the other driver waved as he passed by, it got me thinking it's rare that I get an uninitiated wave from another owner.
Has the art of the wave / headlight flash been lost? I know our cars are far from a rare sight on most roads but isn't there still some shared camaraderie among owners...or is it just that my car has "funny headlights" and an engine that is "inappropriately cooled?"
Mostly, I get blank stares when I give other drivers a subtle wave or headlight flash. In fact, I've often found that flashing the headlights triggers the other driver to hit their brakes as if I’m warning them of a police presence ahead.
I don't discriminate between models (okay, maybe a little against Cayennes and Panameras) but I generally give a subtle wave when I see other Porsches and I'll always wave back. So, I'm curious. Do you typically wave, flash your headlights or otherwise acknowledge other Porsche drivers while you're in your Porsche?

In Miami, people have zero interest in waiving at pcars. There are so many exotics driving by that a pcar is no big deal... I'll still give thumbs up now then if I see a properly sorted car...

I rarely see one - my step dad and the Vette community do it - well, the older vettes. Most ppl when even find out I have one think I spent a fortune and that german cars are pos after the warrenty is over

So true though, most people think 996's are so expensive.
I did exchange thumbs up with a 993 the other day and always notice other P-cars on the road. Most, however most people do not notice me. I think is is me (the driver) they are scared of anyways!!

In fact, I was driving next to a beautiful walnut brown Panamera 4S in my C4S, side-by-side, and the driver couldn't have cared less. Oh well. It's not about the cars, it's about...oh wait....
