Default Side marker lights install

OK, removed the bumper today and cleaned the rads and fixed the horn (yippee!). Reassembly has gone pretty smooth, with no extra parts. I'm down to the final part; installing the side markers.

The PO installed LEDs, so they are not stock. When I took them off, they came off pretty easily, but the little brass curvy bit was not attached. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get that piece back on and get the bugger installed. Any tips/links?

Helps immensely.

I just can't see HOW to get it in there. As you can see in my last pic, there is a metal piece already in there. I guess it "slides" in with that. I tried pushing hard, and harder. I guess I'll push really super hard and see if goes. Unless there is a method I do not know??

Thanks again for your help.

I would compare it with the oem and retrofit the after market to resemble the oem....

On the OE it looks like the clip has barbs on it to hold it in the slot. On yours the metal piece in the slot probably holds the clip

If you watch the first segment you should see how to put yours back in. I know it is a bumper removal vid but they cover the removal of the side marker just reverse it good luck....

So far this is a fail. All pictures and videos I can find all show the brass piece already in place. I find it odd that neither piece came out with the lights. so they must not have been too tight. Anyway, any last ditch ideas out there. I'd superglue them, but I'm not sure there is enough of the brass part to find purchase within the slot to take hold.

Thanks again, everyone.

the clip doesn't show that it broke off otherwise it would have a flat surface and you would see the broken part still in there. Those aftermarket lights are built too great. Just slide the flat side in the slot with the curved part away from the wires as seen in the pictures. You might want to put some glue on the side to keep it in place.. Which side are you messing with?

Thats just it, it won't slide on there. I'm headed to the store for some superglue. Will report back later today.

And yes, the light feels like a cheap piece of crap.

I've got the issue on both sides. I've had the oem units for a couple of months since I bought the car and sold them this past Monday!!

Arrggghh.
