Default Banks willing to finance a 996

Anybody have thoughts on where to seek a loan on a 996? I've tried several banks and they won't go back any further than 7 years - 5 years in some cases. This is a private party purchase, so financing has to be on my own. Thanks in advance for any info that's helpful.

Check with a Credit Union. Their rules for financing are not the same. Some go back 10 years, and some will do special financing for collector vehicles.

Pentagon federal will do it. Had same scenario when I bought mine..great rates too. No affiliation, etc etc. don't have to be military to join, pretty easy process.

happy hunting.

PenFed is the best for all types on loans. You do NOT have to be a member on the military to join. You just have to pay a ONE time fee of $25 to join friend of the military.

My car was financed through Wells Fargo. No age limit on the car, it just had to have under 125k miles on it.

I used a HELOC. (Home equity line of credit) Had it for a remodel project. Walk in, ask for a check, had the CU mgr call the out of state seller and also email them stating a check had just been made out to them for the car. Keep the title on hand. Money @ 2% is a deal. Also making 5% on savings in a term CD, netting 3% after the loan.

1.99% is a great rate for a used car! I hope it works out for you!

For perspective, I financed a new Subaru recently, and I got 1.9% through Chase Bank.

RSA, I think it took them like 24 hours to get back to me on the approval. They will want a form filled out by the seller that gives them info on whether he has the title in hand, or if he has a lien, which adds a day or so to the process. (just found it) The link to the form is here, so send it to the seller and have them get started because you will need it since it is a private party selling it to you.

Hope all works out well for you!
