Default 996 Engine Crate

Hi guys,

The engine in my car died recently (scored cylinder) and I need to have it shipped to get it repaired. Has anyone made a crate for a 996 3.4 l engine? Does anyone know the maximum exterior dimensions of the engine and ancillaries without the exhaust cans? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Just strap it down with racheting 1" straps to a standard wood pallet.

I've never shipped an engine, but when I have equipment/machinery shipped I usually have the shipper construct a crate on site. If you can get away with strapping and a pallet that will be the cheapest by far. If not, the crate they build on site can usually withstand a small bomb blast.
