It seems my coolant reservoir is leaking on my MY99 996. I was looking at replacements and have found very few places with the part in stock. Is there a difference in mk1 and mk2 reservoirs? Does anyone have a link to shops that keep this in stock?

Any Porsche dealership will have access to the National database. You may have to order via Germany. Always get the latest upgrade, just ask them if it fits in your car which I'd assume it does. Also make sure it comes with a new cap....

Mark 1 and 2 are different and you can't use the mk2 in a mk1, sorry.

There isn't a lot of space for things like hands and fingers. I wrestled getting the old tank out and the new tank in, using lots of 4 letter words I hadn't used in awhile, but was very happy after the job was done with a few wrenches and tools. Some said it was a breeze, but whatever time you spend you'll be happy when it's done. I've had no coolant smells or leaks since.

hehe. I shouldnt laugh but...I don't envy you the job of replacing the coolant tank.
It's entirely DIYable - so you kind of have to do it...but it sure is a pain in the a$$.
Good news for you though is that I hear the MkI is easier than the MkII. We have to usually do a partial engine drop.

Sorry that I am just seeing this thread today. We always have at least 1 or 2 in stock along with many other parts.
Currently, we also have 3 complete 3rd Rad kits in stock. While you are doing the Coolant Tank... why not add the extra Rad as well.
