OK, thanks.

So just to verify...the amount of tension is a hard configuration and that the tensioner wheel (or any other part of the pully system) cannot be adjusted to increase or decrease tension....right?

Well, the tensioner itself is spring loaded. So yes, it can increase tension - if/when a new, shorter/tighter belt is installed.

But it is not in any way user adjustable for tension. Pre-load is built into with the existing spring tension. Nothing that you can adjust.

If it loses tension, you can only replace it. No adjustments either way.

I used the genuine Porsche belt. Under $40 online.

I went out there today, fiddled around until I found the correct sized wrench for the bolt on the back, and tightened it up against the 24mm. Once that was done, it was relatively easy to get the leverage needed to move the tensioner and get the new belt on.

Problem solved. Done!

Yea. Usually changing the serp. belt is a simple fix. Glad it's done.
