Just a brief intro. I am a long-time Porsche owner (and Pelicanite) and after 3 aircooled Carrera's I have just picked up a 99 996. It had a known engine intermix issue and I have a new motor on the way. Going to do the IMS install before it gets plugged in and I hope to be ready for the Niagara Region DE at Watkins Glen in May. Car went immediately to the shop so I don't have a good picture to insert. It is a silver 99 with black interior. The chassis has 60k on it when it died and the new motor should breathe some life back into it.

Not yet sure what to do with the old core, but will considering selling in parts or in whole. I'm sure I will have questions as we go and I look forward to learning the 996's and contributing where/when I can.

Congrats and welcome to Rennlist. Did you buy a factory motor or a used one? Good luck with the swap.

Thanks! I found a used one with low miles AND a 3 yr warranty. Still plan to do the IMS upgrade and a low temp thermostat, and new clutch. May also do the deeper sump kit LN has.
