Hello all...yes another new 996 owner here... I couln't believe the value you can get with these cars.. the power / handling / and all around style compares to no other. I test piloted many other cars in the search for my next "toy", but none compared to the 996 in the same price range. At any rate, while filling the wiper fluid resevoir, I was amazed at how much fluid it held..until i realized it was pouring out the bottom ! I suspect a cracked WW tank. It looks like a pretty easy removal, but i was looking for a DIY instruction to reveiw first, as well as a good place to get parts online...any help out there would be much appreciated. I am very much lookng forward to sharing experiences and knowledge in these forums !
Did this over the summer. Remove the drivers side front wheel, remove the plastic push pins that hold the wheel well cover in place. You will have to flex the plastic wheel well to remove it. This is where you will find the tank. You have to remove the fill neck under the hood, then there are 2 bolts that hold the tank in as well as a alignment grommet. Just take your time with removal. My leak was actually the headlight washer motor broke in the housing. Ordered a new one from pelican parts. About 1 hour fix.
Welcome.
I've had some good luck with this place -www.autopartsway.ca -
No affiliation but I've ordered plugs, plug tubes, MAF (got original equipment for about $260 on sale), filters (oil, air, tranny, etc.).
I just checked and they don't list a WWF tank but I always check here before I order parts from the US.
Cheers and good luck with your car.
