Default thermostat

Hello folks...,

I would like to know if there is a real advantage to replace the original 180 degree thermostat by the not original 160 degrees..
Thanks

Robert

Go to the LN website and read their explanation. For the price its a no brainer if you live in warm climates. They even suggest a small increase in power due to the cooler operating temps.

Not sure if you can search if your not a member? or can you?

You can also get it from Hartech in the UK (Google their site). 60 quid + carriage (shipping that is). Make sure you get the gasket as well. 5 quid. I'm in the process of buying one from Hartech right now.

I was thinking of doing this as well. Seems like a no brainer especially down here in during the Miami summers I was also planning on doing the water pump this year should help and certainly could not hurt.

Why would you need to buy the housing?

LN sells a low temp thermostat insert so you dont need to replace the whole unit.

You can buy a 160 degrees thermostat housing and gasket made by Whaler at Pelican parts for only $70.00 ea or a LN Engineering thermostat at $171.00.

Bye bye

I wonder what temp thermostat Porsche put in the 997 series to get them to run @ 175?
