996 muffler bypass
#31
I thought about bypass pipes, but then I found Fister D mufflers. Had them on since Christmas, they sound Fan Effing Tastic. From about 5K on they are "ON THE PIPE" and really sound great. If you are just putting around town no one notices. Love them.

I have had the Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes on for the last two weeks and i still think its amazing!
I also installed the Fabspeed competition intake and the two make a great pair.
I ran it with the stock air intake and the fabspeed actually sounds less harsh, gives it a better, smoother sound in my opinion.
I also want to add, most people put on the pipes, start the car and rev the @#$% out of it,,, i let it warm up, then give it a quick "blip" of the throttle and you will hear the engine calm down considerably. I live in a very quiet area and i take off down my street fairly slow, no more than 3500 rpm and its fine, when you punch it, you will be smiling from ear to ear.

+1 for Fister Ds. Great sound when you want it. Fairly stock at cruising speeds.
FD Motorsports are also great to work with. Their fabrication is outstanding. Unless you are doing a full system replacement, this is the solution!

I got a bypass on my 99 Carrera... I could never go back to a stock sound, the motor just screams down the road, people hear you many blocks away, some will complain and yell at you to slow down even going the speed limit which always puts a smile on my face( 99% of the time angry 80+ year olds), alot will give you the thumbs up, Iv gotten 2 "Improper muffler" tickets for 110$ each within a year of daily driving (live in Canada, Ontario). when it comes down to it, I wouldn't go back to stock if I got a ticket every week

I love my muffler deletes. Some track videos if you look at my other videos.

I have the deleted on my daily driver. Before installing them, I bought a set of baffles that I modified to fit. The sound is great and I have no noticeable drone. I leave for work at 05:30a.m. and when asking the neighbors, no one hears me.

Which baffles do you have?
