1999 C4 Cabrio Won't Start

That pump does not look right. This Pic is from Pelican parts. It looks like the whole accumulator comes with it. 996-620-103-00-M82 Looks like you got the 996...102-M82 For 1999-2001 C2 not C4.

Thanks for all your help. The website I bought this fuel pump had it listed as a Carrera 4 part...bummer! I believe you're right though it does look more like it. Seems like every part for the C4 cost twice as much as it's counterpart on a C2

$$Ouch!$$ I did a quick search and even the "cheap" knockoff pumps I saw were $450
You might be able to pull the pump out of the assy and cross reference/or just buy the pump using the Bosch part number to save $$?

Don't forget that you have a fuel filter tucked under the car in the middle of 1999-01 C2s not sure if C4 is in same place but there is a separate filter on the early cars.
#21
The filter is neatly tucked behind the coolant reservoir which I have already had to replace (twice, the first one I put in leaked), I already have the filter and am looking forward to a real knuckle scraper!

What did the old filter look like when you cut it open?
EDIT
OOPS! you replaced the Reservoir not filter.

Thanks to all who have tried to help me here. Unfortunately I have yet to solve the problem. I have done the following:
1. replaced the fuel pump relay
2. replaced the fuel pressure regulator
3. replaced the fuel pump
4. replaced the flywheel position sensor
Just ran a new Durametric scan while turning the engine over (it didn't start!) and checked the following:
Engine RPM - Avg. was 125
Ignition angle - 3
Throttle position sensor 1 - 0.71 (is this the cam position sensor??? This seems like really low voltage to me)
Throttle position sensor 2 - 4.29 (is this the crank position sensor???)
MAF - 1.16
Cam position deviation 1 - 0
Cam position deviation 2 - 0
I'm sure what these values should be to know if they're normal, or if I'm even checking the right things. Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks.

Throttle position sensor 1 and 2 values are opposite each other and should add up to 5 volts. They look normal, and will be reversed at full throttle. Did you get the fuel pump relay fault again?
#26
Yes it did
This is the code I'm getting:
P1124 - Porsche Code 167 - Fuel Pump Relay, below limit value
A Euro garage mechanic that I talked to this morning was convinced it would either be the Crank Position Sensor (which is what I just replaced) or the Cam Position Sensor. Buying parts and not getting results is getting pretty old though...plus, fixing this thing it is now a matter of honor! I'm just not sure what else to try.
Thanks for the help.

How full is the tank? Did you check the fuel pressure again? Is it ~60psi? I wonder if there is a breech in one/some of the fuel pickup lines allowing air to compromise fuel pickup hence pump pressure? If the fuel level is above the pump/accumulator that would rule out leaks.

Fuel level
After I installed the fuel pump I added gas to ensure the pump was fully submerged so that would rule out air entering the pump.
* On a related note...tonight when I tried to start the car after installing the Crank Sensor, I began to smell fuel. This is new...I don't remember smelling it last time I tried to start the car. I'm sure if it's just because I tried a couple more times than before or if it may be nothing at all.

Cam sensor???
I decided to attach a tube to the out port on the fuel pump to ensure that I am getting fuel. When I turn on the fuel pump manually with the Durametric or by jumpering the relay, I get fuel. However, when I turn the key to the 'on' position, I do not get fuel. So for some reason the fuel pump is not being triggered by the key. A local European car mechanic suggested the crank or cam sensor might be the culprit. I already changed the crank sensor, but haven't been able to locate the cam sensor. Does anyone know firstly, if this could be the problem...and secondly, where the cam sensor is located? Couldn't I temporarily use a jumper wire to engage the sensor to check if this is the issue? Thanks ahead for any help.
